Early Beginnings

Studio 865’s ministry began with radio.  Before 1991, Christian programming was aired into Bulgaria from outside countries in conjunction with Trans World Radio (TWR).  After Studio 865 was established as a non-profit organization in Bulgaria, initial work was to produce Bulgarian language programs and to make archived programs available on cassette tapes.  Initially, the ministry aired three 15-minute programs per week.  Later in 1996, Studio 865 started regular production of Balkan Romani (gypsy dialect) radio programs. Today the programming has increased; daily there are 30 minutes of Christian programs broadcast in Bulgarian and 15 minutes broadcast in the Balkan Romani language (a gypsy dialect).  The radio branch of Studio 865 is committed to the production of Christian quality programming.

The vision of Studio 865’s radio branch is the same as partner organization Trans World Radio –

“…To reach the world for Christ by mass media, so that lasting fruit is produced.”
